Hewson is an Iomedaen paladin from the Chelaxian city of Magnimar. He belongs to the Order of Knights with Peace Through Vigilance and is currently seeking acceptance into the Knight’s Circle.
As part of his application into the Circle, he was asked to prove himself to the Order and was given a mission. Hewson was charged with journeying north to the small town of Sandpoint to search the area and its surroundings for any sign of Arodan temples, shrines or worshipers, and report to the Order their numbers, locations, etc.
As a side quest, Hewson was tasked with making contact with any Shoanti tribesmen he meets during his journey and to negotiate peace between the Shoanti and the Order. He was asked to convert any Shoanti to Iomedae, but Hewson secretly disagrees with this directive and prays each day for guidance should such a situation occur.
The Order told him to reach Sandpoint at the time of the Swallowtail Festival and to use the event as a cover in which to conduct his investigation.
Hewson has selected the half-elven sorceress, Yi-Jen, as his traveling companion for the trip north to Sandpoint.
